Welcome to 218 Squadron of the Australian Air Force Cadets, based in Corinda, South East Queensland. In 2018 our Squadron celebrates 55 years of continuous operations, making it one of the oldest Squadrons in Queensland. The Australian Air Force Cadets is the premier youth organisation with an aviation focus in Australia. Our cadets are exposed to all aspects of aviation both military and civil. They get the opportunity to learn about our rich Australian aviation history, the theory of flight, aircraft recognition, leadership development, field craft, air and land navigation and bush survival skills. Cadets also have the opportunity of learning to fly gliders and powered aircraft. All activities are conducted in a safe, structured and disciplined environment.

218 Squadron receives support from the Sherwood-Indooroopilly RSL sub-branch and the Sherwood Services Club. Via these organisations, we participate in ceremonial occasions such as ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day, Boer War Memorial and Kokoda Day.

Our Squadron aims to develop community-minded leaders and to foster a lifelong interest in all things aviation. If you would like to become a cadet, or are an adult with aviation-related skills or interests to offer and an interest in working with young people, then please contact us to express your interest in joining.
